Reflections is a 22-minute documentary created through a collaboration between Raincoast Conservation Foundation and Strongheart Productions. The film chronicles the Art for an Oil-Free Coast project, following a group of artists as they journey through one of Canada’s most breathtaking coastal landscapes. Through their artwork and personal experiences, the documentary explores the cultural and environmental significance of the region and the importance of protecting it for future generations.
The film premiered to critical acclaim at the Vancouver International Film Festival in October 2012 and has since been screened at venues across Canada.
Studio X Labs provided the complete audio post-production for the documentary, including sound design, dialogue editing, and the final theatrical mix.

As part of the project, a beautifully produced 160-page companion book showcases artwork from more than fifty Canadian and First Nations artists, including Robert Bateman, Robert Davidson, Craig Benson, Carol Evans, Lissa Calvert, and Roy Henry Vickers. The artwork is accompanied by essays from leading Canadian scientists and conservationists, including David Suzuki, Wade Davis, and Paul Paquet.
The collection is organized into nine chapters celebrating Canada’s Pacific raincoast, exploring its people, forests, estuaries, salmon, marine mammals, seabirds, underwater ecosystems, and the remarkable landscapes of the Great Bear Rainforest and Queen Charlotte Basin.
